Fantastic $30 Map-Making Humble Bundle Represents a Virtual Tabletop Game Master's Fantasy

Following a brief run earlier this year, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned with an encore available through early December. Described as a "treasure trove of assets and apps" developed by a specialized software company throughout their history, the entire collection carries a value of over $1,300. And there are three different bundles offered in this deal.

Primary Feature

The standout feature is certainly a lifetime license to the CC3+ software, an industry-standard cartography program that can be used to generate various types including epic fantasy landscapes, smaller regional maps, city maps, and most notably, dungeon and tabletop battle maps.

Bundle Tiers

Entry Level

The cheapest bundle tier, at a minimum cost of $1, features merely four of the 39 total items: Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Source Maps: Castles!, Urban Source Maps. This one's only for cartographers who already have CC3+, but it does offer new fantasy symbol styles for overworld maps, over seven hundred fifty creature tokens for use in virtual tabletops, more than two dozen top-down castle layouts including hundreds of map markers, eight complete urban centers, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Intermediate Package

The eight-item bundle for at least $15 is where things get more interesting through inclusion of permanent CC3+ access, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Tome of Ultimate Mapping, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. The Annual represents the annual collection from ProFantasy's ongoing subscription program featuring a variety CC3+ add-ons including map packs and various other tools. Isometric Cities lets you display cities with an extra dimension using angled views from all sides. Meanwhile, the Mapping Tome is a 760-page for beginners and "power users" alike, full of tips and tutorials covering cartography techniques.

Every volume from the Annual series come with this bundle, alongside a slew of additional tools and content enabling creators to craft complete solar systems, or just go all-in on traditional fantasy world-building: battle maps, dungeons, cities, and land masses in multiple viewpoints. Users can also create character portraits. At thirty versus fifteen dollars, the complete collection offers tremendous value, particularly for mappers with temporary CC3+ access and want to upgrade to lifetime. However, it's clearly more advantageous for map-making newbies since it includes introductory guides to help you get started. The sole limitation is that while you can redeem the deal on any platform, the software is only usable on Windows.

Philanthropic Aspect

As with other Humble Bundles, a portion of each sale goes to benefit a nonprofit. In this instance, the beneficiary is Save the Children, an organization founded by Eglantyne Jebb in 1919 dedicated to enhancing children's welfare globally through education, health care, and emergency relief.
